Position: Key Account Executive
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Handle general enquiries regarding shipments, vessel ETAs and charges.
- Conduct targeted conversations with customers to identify their needs.
- Ensure the timely dispatch of shipping documents to customers and overseas agents.
- Liaise with customers and overseas agents on shipping activities and documentation.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all documentation in compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
- Apply a sound understanding of shipping Incoterms.
- Perform data entry for freight services.
- Manage the complete documentation required for compliance operations and advise clients on tariff, rate, cost, quotation and eligibility requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate with external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of interests across business activities.
- Follow operational policies, standards and procedures.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum one to three years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics operations is preferred.
- Good understanding of international shipping procedures, documentation and customs regulations.
- Familiarity with shipping Incoterms and air and sea freight processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and overseas agents effectively.
- Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to identify customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organisational skills to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Proficient in data entry and comfortable using logistics or freight management systems.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise work and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle operational issues independently.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good command of written and spoken English. Additional languages would be an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
